How to Make our Healthy Green Jakarta Smoothie

Living in this TROPICAL FRUIT PARADISE makes the search for that perfect healthy morning drink a cinch, and it couldn't be easier to source ingredients in Jakarta.

Starting with the liquid base, I choose either filtered water, coconut water or fresh almond milk. Almond milk is becoming increasingly popular in Jakarta, and you can find it freshly made at Bless Nature's Best, Pondok Indah or Pure Foods Company

I use a either a hand blender or my super powerful NutriBullet.

Making a green smoothie in Jakarta calls for local produce and is a great opportunity to try new fruits…. and vegetables. I’ve included a local apple, the jambu or rose apple, which is small and sweet and horenso, also referred to as Japanese spinach.

Bananas don’t last very long here in the fruit bowl, one because they taste so good but also the humidity makes them brown very easily. These are perfect to cut and package into freezer bags ready for your morning green smoothie.

We'd love to hear if you tried the Healthy Green Jakarta Smoothie, or if you have a favourite you'd be happy to share with us at a journey bespoke. You can email us at hello@ajourneybespoke.com, or leave at comment at the end of the post.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
